Webinar Overview
Technical Deployment Review of the ITS Cabinet Standard
Date: April 4, 2007
Time: 2:00–3:30 P.M. ET
Cost: All T3s are free of charge
Description
This T3 webinar will be a technical presentation about Houston TranStar's field operational experiences with the ITS Cabinet standard. The ITS Cabinet standard is the first standard from the family of three Advanced Traffic Controller (ATC) Standards to reach deployment status. Houston TranStar has been active in the development of the ATC Standards and the deployment of a standard-based ITS cabinet. This webinar will interject actual field deployment experiences into the discussion about the normally abstract subject of ITS standards. Photos from deployed installations will show how designs are implemented in the field.
Intended Audience
State and local agency engineers and technicians interested in learning about the detailed features of the ITS Cabinet, based on early deployment experiences in Houston. This webinar is NOT designed for an audience interested in the policy and institutional application of ITS standards. Rather, it will be an in-depth technical discussion on an implementation of a field device using an ITS standard. Webinar content most appropriate for those with IMSA (International Municipal Signal Association) Certification.
Learning Goals and Outcomes:
- Familiarity with the operational characteristics of the ITS Cabinet
- Familiarity with the basic components of the ITS Cabinet
- Familiarity with the difference between the ITS Cabinet and other existing signal controller cabinets
- Better understanding of the operational capabilities enabled by the ITS Cabinet
Host:
